The third grade is a transitional year. Students will become more independent as the year progresses. Third graders will work on various aspects of the curriculum. In reading, students will make the transition from learning to read, to reading to learn. We will follow the 3rd grade Everyday Math Curriculum and will embed portfolio problems throughout the year. In science, third graders will cover birds, oceans, the water cycle, heart, lungs, and plants. The social studies curriculum will include colonization, westward expansion, native americans and cultures.
