Wow! The Kindergarteners did a great job on their assessment task for solids and liquids. Teams of two were given a grocery bag of real food items that they separated into solids and liquids. With the help of Patrick Walters, the principal of Flood Brook Elementary School, we were able to get to each group and record their results. Each group was able to tell us that eggs would have to go on both sides because the shell was solid and the inside was a liquid. The next day we made pancakes from the ingredients in our bags as a culminating activity to our unit. Oh, and by the way, they knew once cooked, the pancake was a solid
Our new science unit is our senses and why they are important.
Nursery rhymes, poems and fun books are helping us to rhyme. Every day someone will come up to me and say some word and what rhymes with it. We are also learning what a sentence is how many words are in one. Letter work continues.
