  FanS NEWS

FanS Homework Policy Homework in the FanS Unit has several purposes. First off, it is a form of communication with parents. It lets you see almost daily what your child is working on in school. Secondly, it reinforces the concepts that were covered in class that day. Finally, it begins to build a sense of responsibility in your child. They are responsible for making sure their folder gets home, completing a task and returning the folder the next day. Most younger students blame their parents when they do not have their folders. My mom forgot to put it in my backpack! We constantly remind them that their homework folder is their responsibility! The homework road in years to come is long, and this gets them off to a good start. FanS students receive a homework folder on M,T, W and Thurs. During the Winter Ski Program weeks, homework is not usually sent on ski Tuesdays. Home Links or Practice Sets are sent for math home-work. These need to be done and returned the following day. When your child is out sick their homework will be sent home with a sibling, neighbor or saved for them until the next day when they return to school. If a child is unable to complete their work, they need to return their folder, anyway, in order to get their next dayÕs assignment. If the math assignment is confusing or totally frustrating to a child or parent, please jot a note on the math homework, and Peggy will assist your child the next day. Please do not just do the work for your child if they do not understand.
